My thoughts on GCSES being scrapped for the English Baccalaureate

The GCSE exam is going to be changed to the English Baccalaureate to all core subjects ( English, Maths and Sciences) Thankfully, because I have already started my GCSE'S. Unfortunately though this is not the case for the latest year sevens, they will be the first to take the new exams in 2017. To be honest, I think this is really unfair on the latest students! here are the reasons why:

  • No resists if you fail
  • One big exam at the end of year 11 covering everything you have learned
This whole thing was the bright idea of education Secretary Micheal Gove. How he is the education secretary I really don't know but there is nothing we can do to change that. Gove backed up his plans by saying "GCSEs were designed "for a different age and a different world". I think that this is totally untrue and unfair on all of the students that have recently taken their exams, making them feel worthless and makes them  think that possible employers think that they have less chance of getting the job if there is somebody else going for the job with the English Baccalaureate certificate.
