When you book a ticket at the cinema for a certain film, you expect to see the film you booked. In most cinemas, this happens but not at Cineworld in Nottingham. When families went to go and see Madagascar 3 with their toddlers, they instead found themselves sitting in front of horror film, Paranormal Activity 4! Paranormal Activity is rated 15.
A spokesperson from the cinema chain claimed that there was a "technical error with the projector" and cannot confirm that the children ran out of the cinema screaming and has apologized to all families involved for any distress this has caused.
An apology is all well and good but I don't think that is enough considering what happened. How could they make such a stupid mistake and not think to check the projector well before the film was due to start?!
I have to admit that offering to refund the families tickets and giving them some more tickets for free was a good move and more than likely stopped them from getting berated by press all day. However, this mistake shouldn't have been made in the first place, lets hope that Cineworld are more careful next time and double and triple check the projector before showing the film!
