First GCSE’s now A Levels? when will it stop?

Voluntary work and an extended essay could be part of yet another shake up of the British exam system. This shake up could see an “Advanced Baccalaureate” following on from the English Baccalaureate for 16 year olds.

This would also mean the A Level system adopting features of the international baccalaureate which is preferred by a number of independent schools. A department for education spokesmen has said that A levels will not be replaced and that “no decisions have been made”.

When will Michael Gove and his education cronies learn that none of these changes need to happen! I did say that thankfully the GCSE scrap won’t effect me but unfortunately the A level shake up will! I doubt that this latest shake up will be as bad as the GCSE one but if it’s not broken don’t fix it! some universities are welcoming the proposed change because the current A levels are “not stretching students enough”.

I have said so many times that Michael Gove needs to sort it out and leave the education system alone because it really well all end in tears. Hopefully Gove doesn’t change the A Level system otherwise we are all stuffed.
