Prisoners should get the right to vote

A former prisoner has asked lawyers to start proceedings for compensation after the Prime Minister has said that he will not change the laws and allow prisoners to vote during the election despite a ruling from the european court of human rights.

I think that this former prisoner is right! just because you are in prison, it doesn't mean that they are different from all of us so they should be treated like the rest of us. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that some of the prisoners are bad people and are what the police call "career criminals" but how will allowing prisoners to vote affect the government and the UK in general?!

It just isn't fair because they have as much rights as us and what David Cameron is doing is wrong and frankly out of order. The name of the former prisoner is John Hurst and hurst's lawyers are writing to Strasbourg court to bring to their attention what David Cameron has said. Cameron has told MP's he might allow parliament to vote on this issue again to show the ECHR that they have considered and rejected to its opinion.

I wonder if Cameron will change his mind to avoid getting in hot water and destroying his chances of being re-elected when the votes come around.
