Microsoft has finally launched their new Windows operating system Windows 8, along with a tablet called Surface. Many people are wondering if the long awaited launch will be worth the wait. Critics are saying that Microsoft have taken a huge gamble with the way they have laid out the desktop of Windows 8.
For users of Windows 7 like myself, Windows 8 just looks confusing! there isn't even a start bar! instead there is a start screen once you are logged in. The desktop is laid out in a grid sort of way, a bit like the Windows phone 7. Even when you turn the computer on there is not really a login screen like on Windows 7, instead you are greeted with a picture and to get to the logon screen, you have to click and drag the picture out of the way which is just unnecessary if I'm honest.
Some critics are also describing the new system as Windows 7+1 rather than Windows 8. The layout would be better suited to a touch screen tablet rather than a computer, which is probably why Microsoft have launched a tablet now I think about it. (duh!) Here is a video review :
