Is the world really going to end?

As the ominous date of 21st December 2012 draws closer day by day, many people are wondering if the Mayan calendar is true and if the world is going to end this Friday.

I am a bit sceptical but to be honest over the last few days I have been leaning towards the Mayan’s theory although I am not quite sure what is actually going to happen, one thing is certain in my mind, if the life of the world does come to a close on this day then we will not know a thing about it, we will all probably go to sleep on either Thursday night or Friday night and we could possibly never wake again.

For me the best thing about that is the fact that if the so called apocalypse does happen, it will cause us no pain or misery we will just not awake from a hopefully good nights sleep. However, the thing that is troubling me at the moment is the fact that if and only if this happens, I have not done a single thing that I have wanted to do before I leave this wonderful earth. For example, one of my biggest dreams is to meet the jazz pianist Jamie Cullum or performed at the Royal Albert Hall. However, I have lived a happy life so far and wouldn’t change a thing.

Most of my friends are certain that the world won’t end and that we will live “happily ever after” as the famous line goes. Like I said I am not certain that that is what is going to happen but then again, I am not certain that we will die either. Put it this way, if we all wake up on Saturday morning and we are still in one piece then once again, the predictors and prophets were wrong.

Just in case we do go though, I would just like to close out this somewhat depressing article by saying what a wonderful time i have had during my life and thank you to all my readers and subscribers here on the blog, it has been a pleasure writing for you lot and if we make it through which is looking quite likely at the moment, have  a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Thanks again

Gary :)
