For those of you who don’t know who the Westboro Baptist Church are, there will be a link to a video series about them at the bottom of this post. The church is run by the Phelps family and it’s founding member known as gramps by the church members is Fred Phelps.
I recently found out about this so called church in a Religious Education lesson at school and I was appalled by the stuff they were coming out with! things like “God hates fags”
and “Thank God for 9/11”! This stuff is utterly disgusting, I really don’t know how they can even call themselves Christians when they basically take the word of the bible and God and twist it and make it sound like something it’s not! they even go an picket dead soldiers funerals saying that they are sinners for fighting for their country and that they will go to hell because of it! This whole church and it’s founder are all off their heads! They have no respect for anything or anyone but themselves and the people in their church!
Recently two of Fred’s family members (Megan Phelps-Roper and Grace Phelps) left the church and issued a public apology to all the people that they have offended and upset throughout the years that they have been protesting and been part of the church.They have finally seen the light in my opinion and obviously, their family have disowned them and said that they will go to hell but I don’t think they will and they know that God will forgive them for all of their sins and now they have left the church, they can finally live their lives without their parents breathing down their necks!
The famous hacking group anonymous even sent them a letter telling them that if they didn’t stop this abusive and hateful behaviour then they would hack into all their websites and do irreversible damage! As some of you know, I have always hated anonymous for hacking Sony and other big companies but for once I agree with them and we are finally on the same page about something.
Seeing as Megan and Grace have left the church and there are now only 40 members left, I wonder how long this colt will be around for? Lets all hope they are either shut down by the American government or are forced to close down because of lack of funding and followers. I will pray for the rest of my life that this day comes soon!
