Stop bullying NOW!

I have just read about a Canadian girl who was being bullied and posted about it on YouTube. The video just showed a girl with her face obscured from the camera and she was holding up cards telling people about her story and each time I read another card on the video I got more and more angry at whoever done this to her.

No matter where she moved, the pictures and nasty messages on Facebook and in reality just kept on following her. It all started in 7th grade when she went with friends on webcam and flashed for the camera, she then received a message on Facebook from a stranger saying that if she didn’t show more of herself then he would send the original picture to everyone and because she refused to do what he said, that is exactly what this stranger did. This person somehow knew her address, the school she went to and the names of her family and close relatives.

Eventually, people saw the photo of her flashing and started to tease her about it, after a while the bullying got so bad that she began to get depression and panic disorder and eventually went on to start taking drugs and drink alcohol. After about a year, the same stranger that sent her the message appeared again and had set up a page on Facebook displaying pictures of her topless. She then ended up “crying every night” and “Losing all her friends”. The more this girl was teased about the photos, the more depressed she became and after a while, she began self harming. One day, when she got home from school after a girl had punched her and thrown her to the ground, she drank BLEACH! she was rushed into hospital to have it all pumped out of her system and thankfully survived.

On Wednesday, she could take no more bullying and her body was found in her home. This girls name was Amanda Todd, guess how old she was? FIFTEEN! that’s one year older than me and most of my friends.

Some people say that bullies are often bullied themselves and that’s why they do it to other people. To be honest that really is not an excuse! I think all bullies are cowards and that they need to learn that not everyone that they bully is going to sit there and take it! one day they are going to start picking on the wrong person and REGRET IT!
