SEEVIC college Basildon

Students that currently attend SEEVIC college and go to their Basildon campus will have to look for another college to attend after the current academic year because the Basildon campus is closing down due to lack of funding. I have a friend who currently attends the Basildon campus of SEEVIC college and she has been told that she must either attend the Benfleet campus of the college or find an entirely new college and redo her first year all over again.

The college needs a massive 1.2 million pounds to allow it to stay open. The worst part of this extremely messy situation in my opinion is that the principle of the SEEVIC's Basildon campus has known about the lack of funding since January of this year and has tried to keep it under wraps! My friend found out about the closure of her college through the confirmation of a rumour by college staff who had only just found out that morning!

It also seems that the college’s senior department are not going to even try to do anything to raise the 1.2 million pounds and have effectively given up and thrown all of the students and staff under the bus! It is just disgusting that teachers who are supposed to care about pupils’ education have known about the closure since January and kept it under wraps when the students are taking their exams with the mind set that they will be staying at the college for the whole of their two years and completing their A Levels which clearly is not the case anymore

Thank God for the British education system NOT!
